PHUKET CELEBRATES

ONE YEAR LATER... PHUKET IS BACK IN BUSINESS. INTERNATIONAL
ANNOUNCEMENT OF TOURISM RESURGENCE ABOARD ROYAL PHUKET MARINA'S 'ANANTA'.

Royal Phuket Marina’s luxury charter yacht Ananta was chosen as the venue for Phuket’s announce to the world press that the island is back in business, just a year after the tragic tsunami setback.

Around 50 representatives of the international and local media were invited aboard on December 27, the day after the anniversary of the tsunami, for a sumptuous Thai-style buffet served to the backdrop of the stunning Phang Nga Bay and chill-out music from DJ Tazz.

Journalists heard of Phuket’s amazingly rapid recovery from the disaster from the Governor of Phuket Mr Udomsak Usawarangkura, Tourism Authority of Thailand Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing Mrs Juthaporn Rerngronasa, and Royal Phuket Marina developer Mr Gulu Lalvani.

All noted that Phuket's tourism was booming again – with hotels, guest-houses and restaurants packed for the traditional Christmas high season, together with unprecedented real estate investment by overseas buyers.

As Mr Lalvani stated: "We gather here to celebrate and confirm to the world that Phuket continues to be a world-class tourism destination."

The Governor of Phuket declared: “Starting from today, Phuket and the Andaman region will enjoy even more prosperity and economic success, more fruitful tourism and much more growth -- once again regaining its renowned reputation as one of the world’s Top Ten World Class Tourist Destinations."

GULU LALVANI’S ANNUAL XMAS PARTY

In sumptuous style, Royal Phuket Marina developer, Gulu Lalvani hosted his annual Christmas party at his Amanpuri villa – the holiday home that began his love affair with Phuket.

One of the first investors in an Amanpuri villa, the original flagship of Amanresorts, Mr Lalvani’s lavish holiday celebrations have since become legendary and the event on December 27 was no exception.

Around 120 international guests joined his family and close friends beside the pool, under the stars, for the tropically- themed party, complete with entertainment by DJ Josh Ezelle of BED Supperclub in Bangkok.
