Journalists heard of Phuket’s amazingly rapid recovery from the disaster from the Governor of Phuket
Mr Udomsak Usawarangkura, Tourism Authority of Thailand Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing
Mrs Juthaporn Rerngronasa, and Royal Phuket Marina developer Mr Gulu Lalvani.
All noted that Phuket's tourism was booming again – with hotels, guest-houses and restaurants packed for
the traditional Christmas high season, together with unprecedented real estate investment by overseas buyers.
As Mr Lalvani stated: "We gather here to celebrate and confirm to the world that Phuket continues to be a
world-class tourism destination."
The Governor of Phuket declared: “Starting from today, Phuket and the Andaman region will enjoy even more
prosperity and economic success, more fruitful tourism and much more growth -- once again regaining its
renowned reputation as one of the world’s Top Ten World Class Tourist Destinations." |
