Phuket Marina 5 Gold Anchor Certification

A Marina 5 Gold Anchor Certification

What is the gold anchor accreditation scheme ?

Developed to raise the standards for marina operations and customer service, the Gold Anchor Scheme sets out to help marinas distinguish themselves through continuous business improvements benchmarked against global best practices in operations and sustainability from around the world.

On the consumer end, this means marina customers can always be satisfied knowing they are getting the best service possible when they put their trust in a Gold Anchor certified marina.

Marinas that are part of the Gold Anchor Scheme can either choose to do the self assessment against the core scheme criteria as a pre-step to independent assessment or be independently assessed from the get-go, the latter being the chosen method for Royal Phuket Marina, as we seek to promote the highest levels of quality in in our service and sustainability.

The Gold Anchor Scheme is administered by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) for the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean, while Marina Industries Association (MIA) administers the Gold Anchor Scheme in Asia, India, Sri Lanka and the Pacific Regions Including Australia and New Zealand.

What are the gold anchor values?

As the entire Gold Anchor Scheme is based on a customer and environmentally centric view point with the core values that make up the Scheme based on these principles. The Gold Anchor Values are as follows;

  • Provision of good customer service
  • The products of the marina represent good value for money
  • Industry standards and environmental pledges have been achieved
As such Royal Phuket Marina has gone out of its way to make sure that all values of the accreditation have been met, and continue to be met, as we come up to the renewal of our 5 Gold Anchor certification.

The Marina Audit?

To attain Gold Anchor certification, the marina must undergo a berth holder survey. Upon completion of the evaluation and consequent report, and accreditation recommendation is rent to either The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) or the Marina Industry Association (MIA) Gold Anchor Standards Panels for approval.

Once the approval and accreditation is complete, mystery shoppers checks are conducted over the three year validity period of the accreditation to ensure that standards are maintained and the accreditation remains valid. This process also affords an opportunity for further valuable information to be shared with the marina.
